Xavier "X-Man" Eugene Kuykendall

Xavier “X-Man” Eugene Kuykendall passed into the loving arms of the Lord on October 27, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas  at the age of 65.  Xavier was born to loving parents, Victor & Florence Johnson in Yoakum, Texas on February 6, 1959.  He was a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas, but Victoria, Texas holds a special place in his heart as well.  Xavier was the epitome of a hard working family man and set an example for all who knew him.  Xavier was an active member of the BAC, International Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, for over 25 years.  He worked as a bricklayer and factory sampler mason.  Before retiring, he became self-employed, creating his own company, XEK Construction, specializing in cement masons and concrete finishers.   He also had a passion for cowboy life and was a skilled roper and horseman.   Most importantly though,  Xavier was a man of faith and proud member of the Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Xavier is preceded in death by his parents, Victor & Florence Johnson; his siblings, Shirlon Bedford & Shondra Johnson; and his grandson, Anthony Clark.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Tesselene Grant Kuykendall, and his children, Xavier Eugene Kuykendall Jr, Windell Hill Jr (Adrienne), Shawanna Gayle Grant, and Crystal Devonne Grant.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Christopher, Niles, Carvey, Isaiah, Raegan, Sadari, Adonia, and Brianie, as well as one great-grandchild.  Xavier will be greatly missed by his siblings, Harvey Kuykendall (Elizabeth), Victor Johnson, Carlton Johnson, and Viva Harris.  He was truly a blessing to all those who knew him and he will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 am on November 9, 2024 at Franklin Funeral Home.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.  Interment will directly follow at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
