William Martinez

William “Billy” Martinez passed into his eternal rest on January 7, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 70 years old. He was born to loving parents Willie & Eva Martinez in Pandora, Texas, on November 19, 1954. Billy was a lifetime resident of South Texas, but Pandora is where he called home. Billy was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather and set a shining example of what it meant to work hard and love harder. He worked with his hands; whether they were guiding a machine or sliding up the neck of a guitar, he left the world a better place because of it. He was also a man of Faith and proud member of the Pandora Baptist Church.

Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carmen Martinez; his father, Willie Martinez; his brothers, Emilio Casanova, Arthur Martinez, and Arnold Martinez; and his granddaughter, Carlie Mariah Hernandez. He is survived by his mother, Eva Martinez, and his children, Sharron Martinez, Connie Mercado, Billy Martinez Jr., Marie Martinez, Cindy Martinez, and Susie Martinez. Billy is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Erma Martinez, Freddy Martinez, Eddie Casanova, and Corina Salinas. He will be forever cherished by all those who knew him, including his cherished friend, Julie Aguirre, along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on January 13, 2025, at Pandora Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am and interment will directly follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
