Wayne M. Almand passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026 in his home in Floresville, Texas at the age of 85. He was born on August 27, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas to loving parents, Ray and Mary June Almand. Wayne spent much of his life in Floresville, where he became a familiar and respected member of the community.

Wayne was a proud union electrician and a dedicated member of the Local Union 60 and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was initiated into the IBEW in May of 1967 and took great pride in the many years he spent working in his trade. Wayne was known as a hardworking man who valued the craftsmanship of his work and the brotherhood found within the union. Outside of his work, Wayne found great enjoyment in the outdoors, where he appreciated the quiet and simplicity that nature provided.

Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Almand; his parents, Ray and Mary June Almand; and his sister, Elaine Tucker.

He is survived by his loving children, Bobbi Jo Hanus, Tony Almand, Loyd Almand, James Almand, and Ray Almand; along with numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren who will continue to carry his memory forward.

Wayne will be remembered by those who knew him as a hardworking man who took pride in his family, his profession, and the life he built over the years. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
