Vickie Lea Rodgers

Vickie Lea Rodgers passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on November 22, 2023 in Floresville, Texas at the age of 75 years old.  She was born in San Angelo, Texas to parents, Elsie and Angus Truett, on August 24, 1948.  Vickie was a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas.  Many knew her as “Miss Vickie”, as she dedicated many years of her life to the children of her community as the director of Sonshine Ark Preschool and Daycare. As a woman of strong Faith, she was proud to be a Pastor’s Wife of 50 years where she served as Sunday School teacher, in the ladies’ auxiliary, and clerk at the local, state, and national levels. Vickie found great joy in music, whether singing special music at church, listening to others sing hymns, or playing the piano. She was truly the definition of a woman with a servant’s heart.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Angus Truett; her niece, Anjy Utley Elkins; her nephew, Brandon Truett; and her sister-in-law, Sandra Truett.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Reverend Roddy Rodgers, and her loving children, Scott Rodgers (Pam) and Keith Rodgers (Lorelei).  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kimberly, Kirsten, Katherine, Kyrie, Christopher, Kaleb, and Luke as well as her siblings, Terry Utley (Dennis) and Thomas Truett (Brenda Jo).  Vickie was a beautiful light in this world and will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and Church Family.

A visitation will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Franklin Funeral Home.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Franklin Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Floresville City Cemetery.  The Rodgers family would like to thank the community for their kind words and help in keeping her beautiful memory alive.
