Thomas Alexander Kane

May 5, 1948 — March 3, 2025

Thomas Alexander Kane went into the loving arms of the Lord in his Floresville, Texas home on March 3, 2025 at the age of 76 years old. He was born to loving parents, Florence & Alexander Kane in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 5, 1948. Tom was a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas where he raised his family with the love of his life, Ann-Marie Polley-Kane. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, but he was also a shining example of living life with a servant’s heart.

Many in Floresville knew Tom as a devoted man of faith and music director at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he served for over 45 years.  In 1991, he founded Polley-Kane & Associates, which has since provided environmental and safety consulting for area manufacturers. He was a member of numerous local and state organizations, including the San Antonio Manufacturing Association. He was a proud area leader for Recovery International, helping guide countless people through their mental health journey.

A life-long learner with many passions, Tom was an avid reader who had an incredible knowledge of scripture, history, or just about any subject that was being discussed.  He studied many languages and world cultures throughout his life.  When he was not working or serving at the church, Tom spent his time dancing, enjoying live theater, and playing games with friends.  One of his greatest strengths was seeing the good in everyone he knew.  He rarely found a conversation he didn't enjoy - he was fascinated by the people he met and loved hearing the stories of their lives.  The joy in Tom's heart was often displayed by the big smile on his face.  His profound empathy and compassion brought comfort and hope to many in his community, where his larger than life memory will continue to live on.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Ann-Marie Polley-Kane, and his parents, Florence & Alexander Kane. He is survived by his beloved children, Colleen Hernandez (Andrew), Peter Kane, Timothy Kane (Jennifer), Sarah Kane, and Hannah Haas-Kane (Allen). Thomas leaves behind his grandchildren, Anthony Hernandez (Victoria), Daniel Hernandez, Owen Kane, Christian Kane, Olivia York, June Kane, Alice Haas, Crosby Kane, Xander Haas, and Kolbe Kane. He will be forever cherished by his siblings, William Kane (Linda), James Kane, Sandra Kane, Mary Ellen Flores (Joseph), and Kathleen Golio (Richard). Tom truly touched the lives of everyone blessed to know him and will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, June 2nd., 2025. Visitation will be held from 10-11am, a rosary at 11am, and a memorial funeral mass at 11:30am.  Following the mass, all are welcome for a lunch reception at the church hall.

A private cemetery service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that gifts be made in Tom's memory to Recovery International, Inc. at RecoveryInternational.org
