Teresa T. Cardenas

Teresa T. Cardenas, age 73, passed into her eternal rest on October 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in her Floresville, Texas home. She was a lifelong resident of Floresville, where she was born to Julian & Celia Trevino on May 28, 1952. Teresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her deep love for her family and her gentle presence brought comfort to all who knew her. She found joy in everyday moments and could often be found sewing beautiful creations for her family or in her kitchen with her radio on, pouring love into every dish she made. The heart of her family, Teresa’s legacy of love and warmth will be carried on by all who were blessed to know her.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Julian & Celia Trevino, and her siblings, Leandro Trevino and Maryjane Trevino. She is survived by her beloved husband, Andrew V. Cardenas Sr., and her children, Andrew T. Cardenas Jr. (Jessica) and Richard I. Cardenas (Lizet Martinez). Teresa will be forever cherished by her grandchildren, Andrew T. Cardenas III, Azriya M. Cardenas, Jenasis N. Cardenas (Coby), Isabella C. Cardenas, Richard I. Cardenas Jr., Caleb A. Cardenas, Samantha Estrella (Wil), Chyna Butler, Keighan Castro, Elia Estrella, and Mavrick Macki. She also leaves behind a soon-to-be great-granddaughter, Sofia Juanita Guerra, her siblings, Ernest Trevino (Rita), Julian Trevino Jr., Diane Trevino (Robert Perez), Consuelo Trevino (Guadalupe Ortiz), and Joe Raymond Trevino. Teresa truly left a mark on all who knew her, especially on her nieces and nephews, Joseph Ortiz, Celine Trevino, and David Sanchez, as well as on numerous other nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

The Cardenas family would like to thank the community for the kind words and help in keeping Teresa’s beautiful memories alive. The family would also like to thank the Gentiva hospice team for sticking by his beloved mother and caring for her so well. A special thanks goes to Marquita Brown, Rachelle Ray, Marissa Russell, Elias Campos, Sabrina Garcia, Jadyn Farris, Jesse Lopez, Anakin Butler and Sarah Olenick. Her son, Andrew, would also like to thank his wife, Jessica Cardenas, for staying by his mother's side, per her wishes, until she drew her last breath.
