He was preceded in death by his best friend, Bruce Herbon. He is also survived by many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and countless friends in San Antonio, Shiner and San Diego, CA.

Stan was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was a long-time member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He served as an usher and Stephen Minister. Stan had a servant’s heart. In his professional life, he was a lawyer and practiced in San Diego, CA. He was very involved in raising his daughter, Larissa and he said that she was the greatest accomplishment of his life. He loved his wife, Bridget, and enjoyed working with her in her accounting business where he developed friendships with many of her clients. He loved watching movies, shopping at Costco and feeding the deer. One deer began to eat out of his hand and Stan named him “George”. The only pizza he would ever eat was Pappa Murphy’s. During his five year marriage to Bridget, he became very skilled at using a saw-zaw and loved to trim trees. He became a mentor and good friend to her sons, Troy and Trent. He was an avid water volleyball player and won the title of MVP in 2022 in the Shiner Water Volleyball Championship at the age of 82. Stan was led to the Lord by his mentors, Ned Banning and Kim Cheatum. He was very grateful for their years of Bible study and spiritual guidance. He was welcomed as a member of his best friend, Bruce’s family and he was very grateful that their relationship remained and blossomed even after Bruce passed away. He loved family gatherings and was blessed to be so welcomed by all the members of Bridget’s extraordinary family. But most of all, Stan is grateful to The Lord Jesus Christ for His relentless pursuit of him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 16801 Huebner Road in San Antonio, from 10:00am until the service time at 11:00am.  Donations in memory of Stan may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.
