Serafina Hinojosa

Serafina “Fina” Hinojosa passed into her eternal rest on March 3, 2025 in Floresville, Texas at the age of 79.  She was born to loving mother, Maria Benavides on September 9, 1945 in Poth, Texas.  Serafina was a longtime resident of Floresville, where she raised her family with the love of her life, Juan Hinojosa.  She embodied kindness and generosity throughout her life, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to her family by providing warmth, guidance, and unwavering support. Her home was a gathering place filled with laughter, delicious meals, and above all, love.

Serafina is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Benavides Morales;  son, Juan Hinojosa Jr.; her grandson, Aiden Gianni Hinojosa; and her siblings, Anastacia Moreno (Anita), Apolinar Benevides (Pole), and Nicholas Gonzales.  She is survived by her husband, Juan Hinojosa; and her beloved children, Patricia Herrera Hinojosa, Michael Hinojosa, and Rudy Hinojosa.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Bethany Hinojosa, John Hinojosa, Ryan Hinojosa, Ashley Hinojosa, Patrick Hinojosa, Heidi Hinojosa, and Hailey Hinojosa, and her great-grandchildren, Ryan Rudy “RJ” Hinojosa, Troy Louis Hinojosa, Kylo Hinojosa, and Patrick “PJ” Hinojosa Jr.  Serafina truly touched the lives of all who knew her, including her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Mata and numerous Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Family, and Friends.

A Visitation will be held at 9:00 am on March 28, 2025 at Franklin Funeral Home, and a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am.  Inurnment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
