Santiago “Jimmy” Gonzales passed into his eternal rest on April 13, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 97 years old. He was born on December 22, 1928. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, Jimmy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. As a young man, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, a role he carried with great pride throughout his life. Jimmy found joy in the simple things—fishing with his family, working with his hands, and taking pride in his woodworking. Whether tending to his John Deere or trying his luck with scratch-off tickets, he truly enjoyed life’s everyday moments.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martina Talamantez Gonzales and Alejos Gonzales, and numerous brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Isabell Gonzales. He also leaves behind his children, John Gonzales, Joyce Diana, Sana Gonzales, and Priscilla Sekula (Chris). Jimmy is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard Gonzales and Isabel Perez. He was blessed with great-grandchildren, Jade Gonzales, Jaclyn Cockerham, Dwayne Cockerham, Jr., Richard Gonzales, Jr., Damien Gonzales, John Gonzales, Max Gonzales, Javier Perez, and Andrez Perez. He also leaves behind his great-great-grandchildren, Briseis Sekula, Ezio Sekula, Elliot Cockerham, and Madison Cockerham, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Franklin Funeral Home, beginning at 5:00 pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment will directly follow at Floresville City Cemetery.
