Rosemary Cantu Mungia

Rosemary Cantu Mungia passed into the loving arms of the Lord on May 11, 2024 in Floresville, Texas at the age of 73 years old.  She was born and raised in Floresville, Texas to loving parents, Beatriz & Louis S. Cantu Sr. on May 14, 1950.  Rosemary was a woman of integrity whose kindness and compassion for others shone through in every way.  She spent much of her life not only caring for her beloved family, but also members of her community, from the children of Floresville as a childcare provider to the elderly as a caretaker.  While she wore many hats beautifully, one thing was certain; whatever she did, she did with all of her heart.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Beatriz & Louis S. Cantu Sr, her grandparents, Edna Mills Tejada & John Banks Tejada, her brother, Louis “Bon” Cantu Jr., and mother and father-in-law, Beatrice Mungia & Manuel Mungia.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Rudy Mungia, her son, Rudy Mungia Jr. (Arlene), and her grandchildren, Lukas & Lailah “Chickie” Mungia..  She will be forever cherished by her siblings, Manuel Cantu (Yolanda), Helen Cantu, Leroy Cantu (Nancy), Betty Silva (Robert), and Anna Garces (Moses), as well as by her sister-in-law, Margaret Talamantez.  Rosemary leaves behind a legacy of family, joy, and love and will be remembered always by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 5:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Hall.
