Ronald W. Bluff passed into his eternal rest on February 19, 2026, in his Floresville, Texas home at the age of 79. He was born on June 11, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio to loving parents, Irene and John Bluff. Though Ohio was his birthplace, Ronald became a longtime and cherished resident of Floresville, Texas, where he built a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
Ronald devoted many years of his life to serving his country as a Meteorologist in the United States Air Force, a role he carried out with dedication and pride. Following his retirement from the military, he continued to apply his sharp mind and steady hands in the technology field, where he was truly a jack of all trades.
Outside of his work, Ronald had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed bicycling in his early years. He had a lifelong fascination with trains and a special passion for sports cars, especially his beloved Mustangs, Corvette, and Miatas.
Above all else, Ronald’s faith was paramount in his life. A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Floresville, he served as a Deacon and active volunteer, pouring his time and heart into his church family. He walked closely with the Lord and valued his relationship with God deeply. His family finds comfort in knowing that he now rests in the presence of his Savior, whom he faithfully served throughout his life.
Ronald was preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa “Teri” Bluff, and his parents, Irene and John Bluff. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sallie Bluff, and his children, Bradley Bluff (Julie), Elizabeth “Zoe” Fox (Ben), Sean Havey (Linda), and Tasha Havey. Ronald will be forever cherished by his grandchildren, Stephanie, Katie, Benji, Brock, Lexi, Hannah, Austin, Abigail, Jon (Sydney), Gabriella (Cameron), Aron (Mackensey), and Gideon, and his great-grandchildren, Breezy, Tony, Rhett, Gianna, London “Moonpie”, Jersey, and two precious blessings on the way. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother, Richard “Dick” Bluff (Peggy), along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by his steady presence and faithful example.
A visitation will be held on March 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Floresville, with a funeral service to begin at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment with military honors will follow at 1:45 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Though his passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that Ronald has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
