Obituary

Roberto “Quate” Marroquin passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 69. He was born on April 16, 1957, in Floresville, Texas, to Jesusa and Rafael Marroquin, Sr. A lifelong resident of Floresville, Roberto was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He loved to have a good time and especially enjoyed sharing a drink with those he loved and singing along to his favorite songs. He shared a close bond with his many nieces and nephews, as well as a special lifelong connection with his twin sister, Becca. Roberto worked for many years in landscaping and loved being outdoors, whether riding his lawn mower or helping care for his brother’s ranch.

Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Jesusa and Rafael Marroquin, Sr.; and his siblings, Rafael Marroquin, Jr., Martha Garcia, Leo Marroquin, Trinidad Marroquin, Elidoro Marroquin, and Manuelita Montoya.

He is survived by his children, Carol Jean Marroquin, Roberto Marroquin, Jr., and Ashley Marroquin. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Mercedes, David, Mariah, Diana, Drake, Alisa, Matthew, and Robert; and numerous great-grandchildren. His memory will be forever cherished by his siblings, Richard Marroquin, Sr. (Mary Helen), Benito Marroquin (Yolanda), Rey Marroquin (Margaret), and his twin sister, Becca Robles (George). He is also survived by his former wife, Josephine Marroquin, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Franklin Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am and interment will directly follow at Picosa-Martinez Cemetery.

The Marroquin family is grateful for the many expressions of love and sympathy they have received. As they say goodbye, they find comfort in the words he so often shared: “Don’t worry about the weather, just let the wind blow.”
