Robert G. Heimer

Robert G. Heimer went into the loving arms of the Lord in his San Antonio, Texas home on January 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born to parents, Elmer & Veronica Heimer on October 25, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas.  There are not sufficient words to pay homage to this good soul. Robert lived a life defined by his deep and abiding Catholic faith, serving his family and community with a generous servant heart. He was a deeply valued member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church Men’s Club, ACTS Community, and Cemetery Committee as well Hermann Sons and Alhambra Men’s Groups.  Robert was also a proud Central Catholic Alumni.

Robert spent his early years raising 7 rambunctious kids with wife Joyce and managing the manufacturing division of Heimer Industries. Later in life, as owner/operator of Heimer Iron Works and Brama Branding Irons, Robert created custom branding irons for customers all over the world. Robert, a gifted blacksmith and welder, one of a handful of artisans left bending iron by hand.

Robert was preceded in death by wife Joyce Freisenhahn Heimer, and son Brian Michael Heimer. Robert is survived by children, Gary (Valerie), Katherine (Ernest), Karen, Mark, Brenda, and Charles (Veronica). Grandchildren Curtis (Jessica), Laura (Vance), Zack (Victoria), Nicolas (Marissa), Corey, Tyler, Avery, Samantha, Gabriel, and Nathaniel; Great-grandchildren Brynlee, Peyton, Reid, and Cole. Brother Deacon Louis Heimer (Diana), Sister Theresa Heimer.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Franklin Funeral Home and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Elmendorf, Texas.  Internment will directly follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. There will be a Reception at the Good News Lutheran Church Hall from 12:30-3:30 pm (11020 Old Corpus Christi Hwy, San Antonio, Texas 78223) and all are invited to come and share Robert’s beautiful memories.
