Robert “Bob” Jack Bayer age 83 passed away on November 26, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 9, 1939 to Adolph & Tillie (Schneider) Bayer in Hondo, Texas. Bob was raised in Castroville, Texas and graduated from Castroville High School where he participated in all school sports throughout his high school years. He married the love of his life Pauline “Polly” Pavliska on October 22, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, Texas. Bob worked for 31 years at Stewart Warner/ Alemite Division as a counter salesman, before retiring. He then went on to become a sales agent for SPJST Life Insurance. He was the local SPJST Lodge 107 Floresville President for over 30 years. Bob also was SPJST District 7 Director for 34 years and served as Chairman of the Board for 4 years. Bob devoted his life to SPJST and was a strong supporter for the SPJST Czech Heritage Museum & Genealogy Center. He was also a RVOS Farmers Mutual Sales agent. Bob continued his community involvement as a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, Knights of Columbus #6641 of Sacred Heart, a member of the 4 th degree Knights of Columbus where he served as district deputy for 2 years. Bob and Polly had 3 children John, Roxy, and Wendy. They had 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and they were the light of his life! He always looked forward to seeing them and had a huge smile on his face when they came around. Bob was an avid hunter and fisher, he loved bowling and playing dominos with his father in-law, Joe, where they won many tournaments together.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws Joe & Pauline Pavliska. Sister in-laws Elizabeth Pavliska Bielefeld, Rebecca “Susan” Pavliska Blubaugh & Daughter in-law April (Isom) Bayer.

Bob is survived by his Wife of 62 years Polly Bayer, Son John Bayer & wife Peggy, Daughter Roxanne & Larry Bertrand, Daughter Wendy Pruski. Grandchildren Kevin, Josh (Donna), Zach & Hope Bayer, Lian (Robert) Lynn. Great Grandchildren Colt and Tillie Lynn, Atlas Bayer, and Jack Bayer. His sisters MaryAnn (Al) Henke, Ruth Bayer, Linda (Don) Johnson. Brother in-Laws Erich Bielefeld, Joe Bob (Laura Lea) Pavliska, James “Pee Wee” (Leysa) Pavliska, Richard Blubaugh, Jeff (Carol) Pavliska & numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A visitation will be held Sunday December 4, 2022 at 4pm at Franklins Funeral Home 914 3 rd St. Floresville Texas 78114. A rosary will be recited at 5pm. A private family internment will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPJST Czech Heritage Museum through the SPJST Foundation P.O. Box 100 Temple, Texas 76501 or a charity of your choice.
