Olen Wilson was born December 4,1932 to James Franklin Wilson and Myrtle Page Wilson in Lubbock Texas and passed away April 29,2024 at the age of 91 surrounded by family. Olen married Ina Faye McMeans May 2,1953 in San Antonio Texas.
He is survived by wife of 70 years Ina Faye McMeans Wilson, sons Olen (Dell) Wilson and Audie Wilson both of Floresville, his daughters Robyn Heitkamp husband Mark Heitkamp of Floresville, Holly Miculka husband Clifton Miculka of New Braunfels and Terri Roberts Duplantis husband Robert Duplantis of Floresville. Sister-in-laws Pearla Wilson, Emma Lou Milender, Bonnie Golden and Lynda Harrison. Grandchildren Misty Morales, Christina Perez, Melissa Lukkes, Matthew Wilson, Mark Wilson wife Terri Wilson, Marshall Wilson, Damian wife Kennidy Perez, Daniel wife Holly Light Wilson, Tina Rivas, Emily Grace-Puckett and SGT Albert (AJ) Frank, Sandra Miculka, William (Bubba) Miculka, Connor Heitkamp, Deana Heitkamp and Alexa Roberts. He is also survived by 16 Great Grandchildren,1 on the way and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents James & Myrtle, In Laws Eldred and Lucille McMeans, siblings and in laws Mattie and Alfred Davis, Sara and Raymond Elmore, Edith and Floyd Baird, Benjamin and Mary Wilson, Tommy Wilson, Otis and Eva Wilson, Norma Wilson, Glen & Margaret McMeans, Leonard Milender, Bobby McMeans, Perry Harrison, Gene Golden and Grandson Dillon Lee Roberts.
Olen joined the Army at the age of 17 and fought in the Korean War. After the military he married Ina Faye and started a family a few years later. Olen worked for Van Buran Lumber, Handy Andy and Borden’s. He was also a teacher at Floresville Middle and High School, School bus driver, Reserve Deputy for Wilson County but most of all a Baptist Minister for over 60 years at Pandora First Baptist, Gillett First Baptist and Marcelina Baptist Church. Olen enjoyed fishing with his family, taking the grandkids to Mc Donalds or Burger King to watch them play, his cattle and most of all his tractor. Boy did he love his tractors. Olen touched many lives, and he is still fondly remembered by his students and friends. He will be greatly missed by all, but no more so than by his wife, children and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held June 8,2024 at Marcelina Baptist Church starting at 11:00 am with fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers you can make contributions to Marcelina Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
