Nina E. Mcdonald-Matthews

Nina E. McDonald-Matthews went peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord on July 9, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 59 years old.  Nina was born to loving parents, Loweena & Richard McDonald on December 11, 1964 in Los Angeles, California.  Nina lived her life with a servant’s heart and was a testament to her calling as a registered nurse.  Her legacy of selfless dedication, unwavering compassion, and boundless love will shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her.  Nina was also a woman of Faith and an active member of the Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Nina was preceded in death by her father, Richard McDonald, her grandparents, and three uncles.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Darryl Matthews, and her mother, Loweena Stewart.  She will also be forever missed by her sisters, Tammie McDonald-Carey (Les) & Nicole Cole.  Nina will be fondly remembered by her aunts and uncles, Audrey Scott, Ethel Moultron, and Leon Stewart, Jr; and her nieces and nephews, Erika Roberts, Nylesia Jones, Alaya Cole, Richard Roberts Jr. (Kacie), Earl Joseph Cole III, Tyson Roberts, and Jordan Roberts.  Nina’s beautiful memory will live on in the hearts of numerous cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on August 3, 2024 at Franklin Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 11:00 am and interment will directly follow at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
