Michael "Bump" Martinez

Michael “Bump” Martinez passed into his Eternal Rest on May 15, 2024 at his home in Nixon, Texas at the age of 54 years old.  He was born to loving parents, Estevan & Lena Martinez in Nixon, Texas on May 6, 1970.  Michael was a lifelong resident of Nixon, where he built his life with the love of his life, Patty Martinez.  Michael was a man of Faith and active member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Estevan & Lena Martinez, his siblings, Josie Cantu and Steve Martinez Jr, and his great grand-daughter, Evalynn Mendiola.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann "Patty" Martinez, and his children, Kirstin Collins, Erica Munoz, John Patrick Munoz and wife Jessica, and Jacob Munoz.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Gabriel & Xavier Mendiola, Aiden & Avery Casas, Jonathan, Javen Ray, & Tristan Regalado, Javiana Bustos, J.P. Jr & Izzella Munoz, Anysa & Aniya Mendez, and great-grandson, Leonidas Mendiola.  He will also be forever cherished by his siblings, Emma & Jimmy Flores, Johnny & Rita Arce, Elias & Yolanda Martinez, Gloria & Salvador Mendiola, Delia & Steve Aguirre, Linda & Paul Rodriguez, and Christy Martinez Medina.  Michael will be especially missed by his mother-in-law, Petra Martinez, sixteen nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on May 23, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Nixon.  The Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.  Interment will directly follow at the Latin American Cemetery.
