Melchor “Goody” Pacheco, age 76, of Floresville, Texas, passed away on September 10, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 23, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, to Guadalupe “Lupe” Tobias Pacheco and Frank Pacheco. Goody had roots in both San Antonio and Floresville, calling both communities home over the years.
Goody proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried an adventurous spirit with him throughout his years. He was happiest outdoors and was always ready for a good adventure. Goody had a quick wit and was known for his clever comebacks. He was never shy about sharing his thoughts and was always able to keep those around him laughing. Beneath that outspoken personality though,there was an immensely generous heart. He was the kind of man who would give someone the shirt off his back and was always willing to lend a hand when he could.
Goody was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe “Lupe” and Frank Pacheco; his son, Mauro P. Pacheco; and his brothers, Roger Pacheco and Richard Pacheco.
He is survived by his loving children, Emily G. Pacheco (Roy Griego), Rene Pacheco (Rachel Pacheco), and Priscilla Pacheco; and his grandchildren, Ventura, Valerie, Vincent, Dillon, Destyni, Jaselle, Rene Jr., Angel, Geovanni, Corrina, Johnathan, and Joshua. He will be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren, JoL, Ellianna, Ariadne, Greyson, Noah, Addylin, Mason, Jade, Isaih, and Catalina. He also leaves behind his siblings, Amelia Pacheco Ruiz (Santos), Frances Pacheco, Mary Helen Marroquin (Richard Marroquin), Virginia Pacheco, Olivia Pacheco, Aurora Pacheco, and Carmen Pacheco; his beloved dog, Chiquita; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Franklin Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am at Franklin Funeral Home. Interment will directly follow.
