Manuelita "Meme" Montoya

Manuelita F. Montoya passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, at 3 a.m., in her daughter’s home, in Floresville, Texas, while on hospice. She was born on May 31, 1951, to her parents, Pablo M. Montoya Sr. and Natividad F. Montoya. She “believed in angels and that they were always around us, all the time.”

Manuelita was preceded in death by her parents; sister Victoria J. Montoya; and brother Pablo F. Montoya Jr.  She is survived by her daughter, Nadie A. Hernandez; son Joseph Gabriel Valadez Sr.; grandson Joseph “JoJo” Valadez; granddaughters Gabriela M. Valadez, Nicole A. Valadez, Shelby M. Valadez, and Mia L. Valadez; daughter-in-law Gloria M. Valadez; countless cousins, nieces, nephews, great- uncles and -aunts; and sisters- and brothers-in-law.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9, at 5 p.m., at Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m.  A reception will follow.
