Manuela "Meme" Garcia

Manuela “Meme” Garcia passed into her eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family, on October 28, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 83. She was born to Marina & Lorenzo Marin in Floresville, Texas on January 12, 1942. Manuela was a proud resident of the Floresville and Saspamco, Texas area where she met the love of her life and husband of 63 years, Fred “Baby” M. Garcia. Manuela was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caring sister. She was also a woman of strong faith and active member of both Sacred Heart Catholic church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church throughout her life. She was also a member of the A.C.T.S. and Cursillo communities. Above all, Manuela will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the deep love she shared with everyone who was blessed to know her.

Manuela is preceded in death by her parents, Marina & Lorenzo Marin; her daughter, Graciella “Dede” Garcia; and her siblings, Vickie Casanova, Angela Marin, Cande Marin, Lilly Jaramillo, and Juan Sauceda. She is survived by her beloved husband, Fred “Baby” M. Garcia, and her children, Elva Lucio (Paul), Sylvia Rodriguez (Frank), Fred M. Garcia, Jr. (Cal) and Great Niece Roxane Barrera (Javier). She will also be forever cherished by her grandchildren, Paul G. Lucio, Jr., Ernest G. Lucio, Vincent R. Rodriguez (Mika), Marina Garcia, and Marcus Garcia (Jennifer), and her great-grandchildren, Graciela Ramirez, Gabriella Rivas, (Damien, Avery, RJ, Jacob, Julius, Gabriel Garcia). Manuela’s faith and love shone brightly in the lives of all who knew her, and she will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am and interment will directly follow at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery in Saspamco, Texas. Pallbearers are: Fred M. Garcia, Jr., Paul Lucio, Jr., Ernest Lucio, Vincent Rodriguez, Marcus Garcia, Paul Lucio, Sr., Frank Rodriguez Jr, and John Sauceda, Jr.
