Lonnie Eugene Matthews

Lonnie Eugene Matthews went to his Eternal rest on March 13, 2023 in Floresville, Texas at the age of 65.  He was a lifetime resident of Floresville and was born there to loving parents, Hilry and Theda Matthews on July 4, 1957.  He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and served valiantly in Desert Storm.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his father, Hilry Matthews.  He is survived by his mother, Theda Matthews of Floresville, Texas and his siblings: Carlos Bernard Matthews of Floresville, Texas, Kenneth L. Matthews and wife, Angie of Houston, Texas, and Darryl Matthews and wife Nina of Floresville, Texas.  He also leaves behind beautiful memories with numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Franklin Funeral Home and will be followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am.  Interment will take place at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Cemetery following the service.  Pallbearers will be Jackie Lee Price, Horace Harris, William Harris, Jack Dunn, Steve Guerrero, and Jeff Kinney.
