Leroy Martinez passed into his eternal rest on February 18, 2026, in Seguin, Texas, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 67. He was born on March 8, 1958, in Floresville, Texas, to John and Lena Martinez. Leroy was a proud lifelong resident of Pandora, Texas.
Leroy was a simple man who liked doing things the old-school way. He worked hard with his hands as a bricklayer and helped make his community a better place, one brick at a time. He took pride in honest work and believed in doing a job right. Music was also a special part of his life. Leroy played the tambourine, ran the lights, and did anything that was needed for the country band, Abel and The Boys. He enjoyed playing music with his brothers and sharing their passion with others. Being up there with the band was truly his pride and joy. Leroy was a faithful member of the Nixon Church of Christ. His faith was important to him, and he lived his life in a quiet and steady way. He will be remembered as a man who kept life simple, worked hard, and cared deeply for his family and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, John & Lena Martinez. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Loretta Flores (Pete Guerrero) and April Martinez. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Devanne, Lauren, Destiny, Lawrence, Bella, and JJ, and his great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Aubrey, and Carson. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings, Helen Bustos, Kenneth Martinez (Manuelita), Gloria Cortez (Ray), Rudy Martinez (Mary), Nancy Motl (Robert), and Abel Martinez (Santos). Leroy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
A visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Stockdale Church of Christ and a funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will directly follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
