Leo Simmons, of McCoy, Texas, passed away on August 23, 2026, at his home at the age of 76. He was born on September 12, 1949, in Floresville, Texas, to James Hood Simmons and Doris Blum Simmons.

Leo spent much of his life working in agriculture and ranching. Over the years, he worked as a hog buyer for Swift, a scraper operator for Conico, and a foreman working with cattle. He also raised hogs and cattle in his younger years and continued his work as a ranch hand. A proud Veteran of the United States Army, Leo was hardworking and strong in his convictions, a man who knew what he believed and rarely wavered from it.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Doris and James Simmons; and his uncle, Marvin Simmons.

Leo is survived by his wife, Lillian Simmons; his children, Marvin Simmons, Kimberly Simmons, and Nolan Simmons; and grandson, Robert Hime (Caitlyn Petett). He will also be remembered by numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Franklin Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am at Franklin Funeral Home. Interment will directly follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
