Lavoy Jean Myers

LaVoy Jean Myers passed into the loving arms of the Lord on September 12, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 94.  She was born to loving parents, Mary & Lee Johnson, on May 11, 1931 in Lamisa, Texas.  LaVoy had roots all throughout Texas, but spent her later years in the Floresville area.  LaVoy was a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother, doting sister, and friend to all who knew her.  While she was truly a jill of all trades, LaVoy’s most passionate calling was being a mother.  She poured herself into her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and joy.

LaVoy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark Neal Myers, Sr.; her parents, Mary & Lee Johnson; her siblings, Raymond Johnson and Dorothy McCoy; her grandson, Mark Neal Myers III; and her son-in-law, Kurt E. Presley.  She is survived by her children, Mary Jeaneal Presley, Mark Neal Myers, Jr. (Debra Kaye), Margaret Rose “Missy” Garcia (Arthur C.), and Marshall Myers, Sr. (Judy).  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Wendy Lea Presley, Mercie LaVoy Presley, Matthew Scott Myers, Mandy Jo Myers, April A. James, Jesse J. James, Andrew Cole Garcia, Marshall Lee Myers Jr., Michael L. Myers, and Clayton N. Myers.  She will also be fondly remembered by her 17 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  LaVoy will truly be missed by all who knew her, especially her numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Sutherland Springs Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Mark Neal Myers, Jr., Marshall Myers, Sr., Andrew Cole Garcia, Clayton Myers, Marshall Lee Myers Jr., and Jesse James.  Honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Myers.
