Kevin Alex Ortiz Jr.

Kevin Alex Ortiz Jr, lovingly known as Baby Kevin, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on June 20, 2024 in his Floresville Home at the age of 21 years old.  He was born to loving parents, Dina Rodriguez and Kevin Ortiz Sr. on February 3, 2003 in San Antonio, Texas.  Kevin may have graced this Earth for only a few precious years, but the difference he made in the lives of all who knew him are immeasurable.  Although Kevin faced much adversity in his short life, his beautiful, gentle soul always found a way to spread joy to his family.

Kevin is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Elia X. Castro, Eligio Castro Sr, Olivia C. Rodriguez, and Monica O. Garcia, as well as by his great-uncle, Martin C. Rodriguez.  He is survived by his parents, Dina Rodriguez (Jose Hernandez) and Kevin Ortiz Sr; his grandparents, Hector Rodriguez (Laura) and Irma M. Castro; and his great-grandpa, Vincent “Chente” G. Rodriguez.  He will be forever cherished by his siblings, Xavier Cantwell and Royce Ortiz; his aunts and uncles, Jeana Flores (Roy), Matthew Amador (Rebecca), Marleena Rodriguez (Anthony), Marco Rodriguez, and Joseph Amador (Rosie).  He will be especially missed by his cousins, Julia, Julian, Albert, Mia, Matthew Jr, Mila, Bella, Zachary, Anyla, Cristian, Michael, Analisa, Joseph Jr, Roy Jr, Trae, Xavier, Aires, and Deneli as well as by his second cousin, Roman.  Kevin also leaves behind his nieces, Brynley and Blair and will forever be remembered by caregivers, Chela Brown and Brittnay Eanes.

A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm on June 27, 2024 at Franklin Funeral Home and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on June 28, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
