Jose "Tacho" Toscano

Jose “Tacho” Toscano passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on September 2, 2025 in his Floresville, Texas home at the age of 84. He was born on November 29, 1940 to Enriqueta & Jose J. Toscano in Floresville, Texas. Jose was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who remains a lasting example of strength, devotion, and kindness. A proud United States Navy Veteran, he dedicated his life to serving his country and his community. After his time in the service, he continued his commitment to others as a civil servant at Kelly Air Force Base and as an active member and former president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.  A man of deep faith, Jose cherished his time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where his devotion and kindness touched all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire his family and community.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Enriqueta & Joe J. Toscano; his brother, Abel Toscano; and his grandson, Andrew Toscano.  He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Amalia Toscano, and his children, Laura Ann Toscano (Chris Armentrout) and Joe Michael Toscano.  Jose also leaves behind his grandchildren, Joe M. Toscano Jr, Joron Toscano, Megan Toscano, and Joseph Toscano, and his great-grandchildren, Aleece Toscano and Averie Toscano.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on September 9, 2025 and a rosary will be recited at 10:30 am.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am and interment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Joe M. Toscano, Jr. (Vanessa), Joron Toscano, Johnny Devora, Cerio Flores Jr., Vincent Trevino, Rick Velasquez, and Jacob Nieto.  Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joseph Toscano, Chris Armentrout, Joe Devora, and Alfonso Flores.
