Jose "Joe" M. Hernandez

Jose “Joe” M. Hernandez passed into the loving arms of the Lord on November 10, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 68 years old.  He was born in Big Springs, TX to loving parents, Felicita & Rosalio Hernandez Sr. on December 22, 1954.  Joe was a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas where he dedicated his life to serving the people of his community as a city employee.  As a man of Faith, he was also  a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Felicita & Rosalio Hernandez Sr. and his mother-in-law, Lilly Torres.  He was also preceded by his brother, Rosalio Hernandez Jr. and his grandson, Joe Jeffery Hernandez.  Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Hernandez and his children, Lupe Hernandez (Raul), Joann Gonzales (Frank), Alethea Hernandez (Jerry), and Amy De Hoyos (Guillermo).  He will also be truly missed by his sister, Teresa Huizar (Nestor) as well as by his ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Joe will be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Franklin Funeral Home.  A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 am and a funeral service will begin at 11:30 pm.   Interment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
