Jose C. Huizar passed away on June 5, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 79. He was born on May 28, 1947, in Poth, Texas to Jose and Magdalena Huizar and remained a lifelong resident of the community he called home.

Jose was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps who loved his country deeply and carried that pride throughout his life. He was a passionate man with strong convictions who never hesitated to stand firmly behind what he believed. Above all else, however, Jose's greatest love was his family. He treasured the time he spent with them and found his greatest joy in watching his family grow through the generations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Magdalena Huizar; his sister, Maria Perez; and his brother, Rojelio Huizar. Jose is survived by his loving daughter, Liza Huizar-Perez and her husband, Emilio Perez. He is also survived by his grandson, Noe Cobos, Jr. (Samantha), and great-grandson, Kingston Jeremy Cobos. He also leaves behind his siblings, Anna Chapa, Margie Silva, Rose Huizar, Gilbert Huizar, and Julia Trevino; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery.
