Jose J. Gonzales Sr.

Jose J. Gonzales Sr. passed away on March 14, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 85.  He was a lifetime resident of Floresville, Texas and was born there to parents, Pedro and Ramona Gonzales on February 26, 1938.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Juan Antonio Gonzales, Pedro Gonzales Jr, and Martin Gonzales & wife Marianna.  He was also preceded by his ex-wives, Alicia Benavides and Manuela Jaramillo.  Jose was survived by his loving wife, Iona D. Gonzales and his children, Mary Alice Martinez (Pete) and Joe Jesse Gonzales Jr. (Virginia).  He was also survived by his grandchildren: Joe Jesse Gonzales III (Lisa), Timothy Joe Gonzales (Rosalinda), Krystal Jo Garza (Anthony), Katrina Gonzales, Shane Gonzales, Pete Martinez III (Tina), Joshua Martinez, Jeremiah Martinez, and Corena Espino (Eddie).  Jose also leaves behind his great-grandchildren: Noah Gonzales; Richard, Ethan, Ilyanna, and Alexis Gonzales; Zennon and Nayelli Ramos and Jeremiah Garza; Jorge, Albert, Alex, and Michael Martinez; and Mariella Espino.  He also survives and will forever be cherished by his siblings, Juan Gonzales (Maria) and Beatrice “Betty” Bailey (Wayne) as well as by his sister-in-law, Juana Benavides.
