Born 6/15/1940, to John B. King and Henrietta Gann King, died August 16, 2026. Survived by his beloved wife Donna Louise and three sons, Johnny Wayne, David, and Jeffrey.
He served in the United States Air Force for more than seven years, including posts in Kansas,France, and Germany. He was guarding Air Force Two during the time JFK was assassinated.
He married Donna in 2012, and together they loved fishing for blue and yellow catfish, earning him the name "Catfish King" among his friends and neighbors in Tilden, Texas.
He retired from AER resources. In retirement, he loved sitting on the front porch watching butterflies, sparrows, cardinals, and hummingbirds flock to his feeders. He was an avid farmer, raising watermelons, cantaloupes, Israeli melons, tomatoes, potatoes, and extraordinarily large perch.
He loved traveling 87 miles each way to St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Comfort, Texas.
