John Leal, age 75, passed away on August 21, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 28, 1951, in Floresville, Texas, to Pedro M. Leal and Juanita Longoria Leal. John was a beloved father, grandfather, son, and friend to all who knew him.

John proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Navy. He later enjoyed a long career in technology, including work in telecommunications and as a field engineer for Bayer Corporation. Naturally curious, John had a lifelong love of computers and electronics and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and interests with others. John also had a love for travel, chess, swimming, and the finer things in life.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro M. Leal and Juanita Longoria Leal; and siblings, Isaiah Leal, Mary Leal Lopez, Pedro Leal Jr., and Sebrina Leal Garcia.

He is survived by his loving children, Esperanza Jane Leal, Abram Jared Leal, and son-in-law Jarrod Hunt and his grandchildren, Ruben Hunt Leal, Ezra Hunt Leal, Imriel Hunt Leal, Elijah Hunt Leal, and Delilah-Hope Hunt Leal. He also leaves behind his siblings, Eloisa Leal Garza, Fred Leal, James Leal, and David Leal; and his former wife, Hope Longoria Leal. He will also be fondly remembered by countless cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, family and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:15 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, where John will be laid to rest with military honors.
