John Floyd “Johnny” Graves Jr. passed away on May 23, 2026 in Floresville, Texas at the age of 77. He was born on August 5, 1948 in Lamar, Colorado. Johnny was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Johnny spent his final years in Floresville, Texas close to the children he loved so dearly, though he carried the spirit of Colorado with him wherever he went. He loved the mountains, the outdoors, and any chance to go fishing or elk hunting. A proud United States Navy Veteran and skilled electrician by trade, Johnny believed in hard work and taking care of those he loved. His greatest pride in life were his children, and he remained deeply devoted to them until the very end.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Bush, George Hamm, and John Floyd Graves, Sr. Johnny is survived by his beloved children, Julie Valdez (Mike), Jason Graves (Shannon Dash), Justin Graves (Krystal), and Jennifer Miller (Bruce). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Aaron Balk (Torie Medina), Devon Cardenas, Breya Graves (Dillon Davis), Gavin Graves, Hunter Graves, Bailey Graves, Kadence Graves, Baylan Miller, and Norah Miller, and his great-grandchildren, Ronan Balk and Nico Davis. Johnny made an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing him, including his former wife, Cynthia Graves as well as numerous family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.
