John Franklin Flaharty, Jr., passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at his home in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 72. He was born on December 6, 1953, in Boerne, Texas, to Ruby and John Franklin Flaharty, Sr.

John was a proud South Texas resident, making his home in both San Antonio and Floresville during his lifetime. Strong-willed and independent, he was a man who lived on his own terms. He had a passion for firearms and knives and spent many years building his collection. He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and John Franklin Flaharty, Sr.; and his sister, Pam Whal.

He is survived by his children, John Liam Flaharty, Michael Flaharty, and Tim Beitel. He will be remembered by his grandchildren, Michael Flaharty, Jr., Ares Flaharty, Shae Flaharty, and Cian Campbell; and his great-grandson, Cecil Francis Johnson. He is also survived by his siblings, Donna Hauschildt and Daniel Flaharty.

A Holy Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at a date to be determined.
