It is with deep sadness and loving hearts that we remember Joe “Little Joe” Gonzales, a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and cherished husband.

Born on January 10, 1962, Joe grew up in Floresville, Texas, before eventually making his home in San Antonio. Throughout his life, he had a remarkable ability to make lifelong friends wherever he lived, worked, or visited. To many, he was known simply as “Little Joe or Bo” while to others he was a treasured friend, nephew, uncle, cousin, husband, and brother.

Joe found joy in the simple things in life. Spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, and enjoying wholesome food. He especially loved Dairy Queen and had a deep affection for his trucks, particularly the old truck that had been such a familiar part of his life.

Joe shared a special and meaningful bond with his beloved wife, Virginia. Their time together was filled with companionship, love, shared memories, and the everyday moments that make life meaningful. Virginia held a special place in Joe’s heart and was an important part of his life.

Joe had a special gift for creating meaningful connections with the people around him. His warmth, humor, friendship, and genuine love for those close to him left an impression that will not easily be forgotten.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and especially the love of his life Virginia, who shared his life and treasured their time together. His memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and countless moments shared with everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Joe was also a dedicated employee of American Signal, where he proudly worked for 28 years and 2 days. His years of commitment and the relationships he built there were another meaningful part of his life.

Though his time with us has come to an end, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Grandchildren Zennon, Nayelli, Jeremiah, Noah, Alexis, Richard, Ethan, and Ilyanna.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose J Gonzales and Alice Benavides

He will be missed by everyone

A visitation will be held at 5:30 pm on Monday, August 24, 2026 at Franklin Funeral Home followed by a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.  The Gonzales Family would like to thank the community for their kind words and loving support.
