Jessica Posada Bernal passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., at the age of 54. She was born to her loving parents, Alfred and Lucy Posada, on September 17, 1971, in San Antonio, Texas. Jessica was a loving daughter, sister, and friend. She was fun-loving and lived her life to the fullest. A beautiful soul, she was always smiling and laughing. She deeply loved her parents and her sister, Elizabeth, and was always there to help them. She will be forever missed by her family and her cherished friends.
Jessica graduated from Nixon-Smiley High School in May of 1990. She attended college in San Antonio and later worked for many years at Motorola. She eventually left her career to care for her parents. Three years ago, she began her battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, Jessica remained strong and courageous, fighting with determination until the very end. She had deep faith in God and never lost hope. Jessica had a wonderful personality and was loving and selfless with those she cared about.
Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Posada, who passed away on February 9, 2025, as well as her grandparents and other relatives. She is survived by her mother, Lucy Posada, and her sister, Elizabeth Posada. While their hearts are heavy with sorrow and life will never be the same without her, their love for Jessica will last forever, and she will never be forgotten. She brought sunshine, happiness, and unconditional love to their family and lit up every room with her presence. Jessica was truly a unique and special person.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on January 3, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nixon, Texas. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Latin American Cemetery.
