James Gus Kalisek passed away on December 9, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 61 years old. He was born to loving parents, Dorothy and Augustin Kalisek in Zapata, Texas on February 27, 1961. James was a resident of San Antonio, Texas and former long-time resident of Pleasanton, Texas. He graduated from Southside High school in 1979 and in 1988 he graduated from St. Philip's College where he obtained his Journeyman's license. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and watching sports, but his real love was work. In 1996 James founded a highway construction company that is still in operation today.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Augustin & Dorothy Kalisek and his brothers, Marvin and Larry Kalisek. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Kalisek and his children Clayton James Kalisek and wife Alexandra Kalisek of San Antonio, Texas, Chad Mitchell Kalisek of Pleasanton, Texas, and Coale Micade of Cibolo, Texas. He was also survived by his grandchildren, Camila, Cade, Caitlyn, and Isla Kalisek as well as by his siblings, Brenda Gregory of Pleasanton, Texas, Karen Clint of New Braunfels, and Gary Kalisek of Pleasanton, Texas. James left a mark on everyone he met and will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
All services will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church; 3930 FM 536, Pleasanton, Texas, 78064. There will be a visitation at 6:00 pm on December 21, 2022 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church and a Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am on December 22, 2022 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church and interment will follow at St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Danysh, Sergio Ramirez, Joey Reynolds, Joey Kalisek, Jacob West, and Troy Gregory.
