Hilda Castro Martinez passed into her eternal rest on Friday, August 7, 2026, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 72. She was born on October 25, 1953, in Floresville, Texas, to Alejandra Onofre and Reynaldo G. Castro.

A longtime resident of Floresville, Hilda was a woman of deep faith who loved Jesus and remained devoted to Christ throughout her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart ACTS, where she shared in the faith and fellowship of her church community.

Hilda found joy in the moments that brought people together. She loved to dance and treasured time spent surrounded by her family, whose place in her heart was immeasurable.

Hilda is preceded in death by her father, Reynaldo G. Castro; brother, Richard Castro; nephew, Michael Joseph Garza; and cousin, Joey Estrada.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Martinez. She is also survived by her mother, Alejandra Onofre, and her loving daughter, Zena Orona (Andres Fuentes). She leaves behind her grandson, Jonathan Orona (Amber), and her great-granddaughters, Zoey Orona and Aria Orona. Hilda will be fondly remembered by siblings, Nelda Garza (Mike), and Ross Castro (Adela); nieces and nephews, Gilbert Brown, Jennifer Mata, Charles Brown, Richard Castro, Jr., KiraLee Solis (Jay), Eric Castro, and Erica Castro; sister-in-law, Olga Castro, as well as numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Franklin Funeral Home and the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
