Helen "Lana" R. Conlee

August 22, 1940 — June 14, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen R. Conlee (Lana to family and friends) on June 14, 2025 at the age of 84 surrounded by loved ones. Lana was born August 22, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas to Rufino and Antonia Rosales and became a long-term resident of Floresville.  Lana believed that it was more blessed to give than to receive; her generosity knew no bounds, a compassionate soul who would help anyone.  Lana’s charismatic personality and radiant smile lit up any room she entered. She lived life to its fullest, dancing, entertaining, shopping, traveling, gardening, and playing bunco.  She found joy in the simple things—laughter around the Bunco table with The Bunco Tribe and her friends at Whispering Oaks - Bunco, piecing together stories and warmth through quilting clubs, and sharing her faith with her church family at Harvest Christian Church in Floresville.

Lana was preceded in death by her grandparents, Victoriana Ortiz & Pasqual Martinez; her parents, Antonia Martinez & Rufino Rosales; her children, Melanie Michelle Casares & Yvonne Casares; her brother, Rufino Rosales II; and her step-siblings, Manuel Moreno, Rosa Rodriguez, Maria Vega, and Vicente Moreno.  Lana is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Jack Conlee, her children, Bernice Casares, Manuel Casares II, Joe Casares, and Michael Mark Casares.  She also leaves behind her step-children, Bobby Conlee, Susan Conlee, Donald Conlee, and Jessica Conlee.  Lana will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Yaqoub Al-Ameeri, Rashid Al-Ameeri, Dhahi Al-Ameeri, Contessa Munoz, Helen Ainsworth, Jonathan Dominguez, Yvonne Casares, Evan Casares, Oscar Casares, Norma Casares, Joseph Casares, Iliana Casares, Caesar Casares, Christopher Casares, Stephen Casares, Immanuel Casares, Rosa Casares, and Aliana Casares.  She will also be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren, Suleiman, Amira, Roudha, Hamdan, Karinna, Isaiah, Adrian, Josiah, Mason, Jayce, Leah, Jay, Grace, Jalissa, Danielle, Steven, and Daniel, and her great-great grandchildren, Willow and Cypress.  Lana will always hold a special place in the hearts of her siblings, Elida Rosales, Antonia Eppley, Francisco Rosales, and Ramona Brochner, and her step-brother, Florencio Moreno.  Lana truly left a mark on all who knew her including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:30 am at Franklin Funeral Home on Monday, June 30, 2025 and a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am  A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Monday, June 30, 2025.  The repast will be held at the Harvest Christian Church after the funeral.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Alms Christian fund through Cash App at $HarvestChristian1 in memory of Lana.  Although Lana is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
