Gregorio Gomez

Gregorio Gomez entered eternal rest on March 4, 2023 at the age of 86 years. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family in Floresville, Texas.  Gregorio was born on Dec 24,1936 in Wilson County on the Black Hills at Wolf Ranch to Margarito Gomez and Dolores Vera Gomez. He was the 7th child out of   16 children. Gregorio was a longtime resident of Illinois. He retired after 30 Years from Sundstrand Company and returned home to Floresville in 2000. He married the love of his life Alicia Gomez of Sutherland Springs, Texas and together they have 2 boys.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Trinidad Martinez, Tomasa Aranda, Adela Gomez, Maria DeLeon, Herminia Almanza, Margarita Jimenez, Antonio Gomez, Felix Gomez, and Irene Jaramillo. He is survived by his sons, Gregory Gomez who is married to Kristine Gomez, and Larry Gomez.  Gregorio also had 3 grandchildren, Corbin Gomez, Benjamin Gomez, and Aleczander Gomez. He is also survived by his siblings: Jesus Gomez, Juan Gomez & wife Dora Gomez, Guadalupe Gomez, Ernistine Almanza & husband Juan Almanza, and Raymond Gomez. Gregorio had numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 9:00 am and the Rosary will begin at 10:00 am.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am and Interment will follow at Sutherland Springs Cemetery.
