Genoveva Rocha passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at her home in Poth, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on January 3, 1938, in Kosciusko, Texas, Genoveva was the daughter of Alejandro Garcia and Santos Garcia. She spent her entire life rooted in Wilson County, where she was known for her quiet nature, warm heart, and the joy she found in caring for those she loved.
Genoveva was a cook with her sisters at Circle G Restaurant for many years. She then dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker and caring for her grandchildren. She was known for her unforgettable laugh that could brighten any room, and although she was a quiet person by nature, her love was always evident through her actions. She enjoyed taking trips to the casino with family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching all sports, especially her Spurs.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always knew that a visit to Gan's house meant they would leave with a full stomach and a special meal prepared just for them. Through countless home-cooked meals, gentle kindness, and unwavering love, Genoveva created memories that her family will treasure for generations.
A faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, Genoveva's faith remained an important part of her life and was reflected in the love and care she shared with others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Santos Garcia; and her siblings, Lydia Talamantes, Adelina Guerra, and Alfredo Garcia. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Frank Rocha, and her children, Daniel Rocha (Diane), Belia Ramirez (Pete), Sophie Zaiontz (Clifton), and Christina Camarillo (Michael). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Brandi Guevara, Ryann Fonseca, Mykaila Steinberger, Ashley Zaiontz, Dillon Zaiontz, Justin Camarillo, Marina Ramirez, Luke Rocha, and Jared Camarillo; and by her great-grandchildren, Sophia Ramirez, Ella Fonseca, Noah Ramirez, Petey Fonseca, Presley Fonseca, Benny Ramirez, Briar Zaiontz, Eleanor Rocha, Lainie Zaiontz, and Elliot Camarillo. She is also survived by her siblings, Benito Garcia and Adelfa De Hoyos; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will directly follow at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery.
