Felix Vera Gomez

Felix Vera Gomez entered eternal rest on March 2, 2023 at the age of 77.  He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones in Floresville, Texas.  Felix was born June 11, 1945 in Wilson County to Margarito and Dolores Vera Gomez.  He was 11 ^th of 16 children.

Felix was a lifelong resident of Floresville and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Felix was a loving husband, father, grandfather, a great grandfather. Dad always had a positive outlook on life. He was always cheerful, had an upbeat attitude and a smile on his face. He was full of so much kindness and one of the most generous persons you’d ever meet. He had such a clever and witty personality. Above all, was his love for his family and we were always reminded of that through his actions. He was a loving and caring man and very involved in his children and grandchildren's lives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Dolores Vera Gomez, Siblings Trinidad Gomez Martinez, Fidel Gomez, Tomasa Gomez Aranda, Adela Gomez, Maria Gomez DeLeon, Margarita Gomez Jimenez, Antonio Gomez, Irene Gomez Jaramillo, Minnie Gomez Almanza and Gregorio Gomez.

He is survived by his wife Margie Gomez. His daughter Debra Gomez Hernandez and Husband Jerry of Floresville, Tx., Son Felix Gomez, Jr and Wife Lupita of Poth, Tx., and Son Timothy Gomez and Wife Vanessa of Schertz, Tx.  He is also survived by his granddaughter Felicia Nicole Hernandez Chavarria and Husband David, grandson Christian Joshua Gomez, granddaughter Izabella Sarai Gomez, grandson Jacob Adrian Gomez and granddaughter Charlotte Grace Gomez and his great-grandchildren Valentina Noelle and Francesca Jade Chavarria. He also leaves behind his sister Ernestina Gomez Almanza (Juan), brother Juan Gomez (Susie), brother Jesus Gomez, brother Guadalupe Gomez, and brother Ramon Gomez

Felix known as “Chavo” will be missed immensely by all that knew him, especially his beautiful grandchildren.  He Loved them all with his whole heart!

A visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 9:30 am.  A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am and Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.  Interment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  On behalf of the Gomez family and the staff at Franklin Funeral Home, we thank you for your kind words and support.
