Ethel Faye Perez

November 29, 1954 — April 13, 2025

Ethel Faye Perez passed away on April 13, 2025 in her San Antonio, Texas home at the age of 69.  She was born to Chester and Evie Jones on November 29, 1954 in Marion, Indiana.  Faye grew up in Muncie, Indiana, the fifth child of seven. She later gained a bonus brother and sister. In 1976, she found herself in Coral Gables, Florida where she met the love of her life, Airman Gilbert S. Perez, with whom she has spent the better part of the last 50 years with. They were soon married and relocated to San Antonio, Texas where they started a family which was the center of her world. Her children were her pride and joy and she loved being a mother. It was important to her that each of them shared her love of God, love of family and the ability to forgive. Faye enjoyed hobbies like jewelry making, arts & crafts and listening to music but her favorite thing by far was family. She loved having all her kids and grandkids around. Whether it was a birthday party, holiday, or just a weekend bbq, a full house always made her heart happy. She often enjoyed shopping trips with her daughter & daughter in law and later with her grand-daughters. Although distanced by miles, Faye kept in touch with her family back home in Indiana via countless hours of video calls, phone calls and periodic trips back home. On occasion, she was surprised by a couple of them popping up to visit her in Texas. She maintained strong bonds with all of her siblings, especially her baby sister Nora, who was always her best friend. Likewise, she had very close bonds with her brothers and sisters in-law whom she leaned on as her own. Faye was known for her generosity, kindness, and compassion, and her incredibly forgiving heart. She asked for very little but gave all she had. She will forever be immensely loved.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Evie Jones, and her siblings, Janice Griffen, Mary Franklin, and Flora Porter.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Gilbert Perez Sr., and her loving children, William Jones, Cristina Loftice (Robert), Gilbert Perez Jr. (Kimberly), and Marcos Antonio Perez.   She will be greatly missed her grandchildren, Alyssa (Michael), Cheyenne, Kayli (Xavier), Taygan, Brayden, Dayten, Jaxyn, and Marky, and her great-grandchildren, Dillon, Dakota, Myles, Eli, and Carter.  She also leaves behind her siblings, Dean Jones (Jessie), Nora Jones, Loretta Roach (Barry), Brian Kanedy (Sheryl), and Christian Davis (Terry).

A visitation will be held at 9:30 am on April 23, 2025 at Franklin Funeral Home and a funeral service will begin at 10:30 am.  Interment will directly follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
