Ernest Carvajal passed away on March 16, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 80. He was born on February 12, 1946 in Floresville, Texas to loving parents, Chonita and Oscar Carvajal, Sr.

Ernest was a lifelong craftsman who dedicated many years to leatherwork, carrying on a family tradition that spanned generations. He took great pride in his work and the legacy it represented. Ernest was also a faithful member of St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church in San Antonio, where his faith remained an important part of his life. May he be welcomed into eternal rest and the peace of God’s presence.

He will be remembered for his kind nature, his quiet dedication to his craft, and the love he held for his family. He leaves behind not only the pieces he crafted, but also the memory of a life lived with quiet dedication and care. Ernest will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Chonita and Oscar Carvajal, Sr.; and his siblings, Adela Carvajal and Oscar Carvajal, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Aurora Carvajal and husband Carlos Salinas; his sister-in-law, Norma Castro Carvajal; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 am and Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Inurnment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
