Enrique "Henry" Mendoza

Enrique “Henry” Mendoza went to the “Body Shop in the Sky” at 1:13 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the age of 81.

Henry was born to Louis and Enriqueta Mendoza on June 18, 1941. He lived most of his life in Floresville, Texas where he spent his career working in the auto paint and body industry. Henry was a hard worker and took great pride in his work. Because of his passion for the work, Henry quickly mastered the art of auto paint and body and was known as one of the best in town. People sought Henry from all over to repair and paint their vehicles. Henry was a loving father and friend. On his downtime, Henry loved to watch boxing, and he could watch boxing for hours without end. Henry also loved listening and dancing to Tejano music. “La Mafia” was one of his favorites. He loved joking around. If you were fortunate enough to meet him, you instantly knew just how funny and loving he was. Henry loved spending time with his family. He was a very present father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family very much, and he told anyone who would listen all about them. Henry was a loyal and dependable friend who often opened his own home and heart to those in need. Henry was a good man.

Henry is survived by his sisters: Anna (Joe) Castillo and Lydia Gallegos of San Antonio, TX; his children: Henry and Hope Mendoza Jr., Rudy and Sandra Mendoza, Randy and Imelda Mendoza, Deborah and Henry Garcia of Floresville, TX, and Bernaddette Mendoza and Korey Watkins of Austin, TX; his grandchildren: Kristina Arriaga, John Hinojosa, Rudina Mendoza, Devina Mendoza, Daniera Mendoza, Arcilia Mendoza, Enrique Garcia, Melodie Garcia, Nathaniel Mendoza, Cedric Mendoza, Merlanda Mendoza, and Emerick Mendoza; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Henry is preceded in death by his wife, Arcilia Mendoza; his son, Fred Mendoza; his parents, Enriqueta and Louis Mendoza; his brother, Louie Mendoza; great grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.  Henry will be remembered always and forever.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 6:00 pm in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.
