Elias "Eli" Torres Jr.

Elias “Eli” Torres Jr. passed into his Eternal rest on May 14, 2024 at his home in Floresville, Texas at the age of 65 years old.  He was born to loving parents, Maria Torres & Elias Torres Sr. on July 29, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas.  Elias was a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas, where he built his life with the love of his life, Marylou “Lulu” Torres.  Elias was a man of Faith and was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church ACTS Community.  He also served as an usher during that time there.  Elias was also a man of integrity and a veteran of the United States Navy, in which he took great pride.

Elias was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Torres & Elias Torres Sr., his brother, Manuel Torres, and his father and  mother-in-law, Antonio & Minnie Barrera.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Marylou “Lulu” Torres, and his siblings, Vicenta Ibarra, Irma Mellon (Donny), Diana Rivas, and David Torres Sr. (Cristina).  He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-laws, Ruby & Basilio Diaz, Roland & Carmen Barrera, Oscar & Mary Barrera, and Dora & Felix Cantu.  He will be especially missed by Marlene Johnson (Johnathan), Stefano Cantu, Antonio Cantu (Kyndal), and Kaleigh Cantu-Smolka as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Franklin Funeral Home and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.  Interment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  After the burial, a reception will be held at The Floresville Event Center and all are welcome.  Pallbearers will be: Antonio Cantu, Stefano Cantu, Albert Barrera, Albert Escamilla, Robert “Pato” Barrera, Gilbert Rivas, George Ibarra, and Robert Elias.  Honorary Pallbearers are: Eli Torres, Jett Johnson, and Hernando Rodriguez Jr.
