Edwardo “EJ” Y. Santos Colon passed into the arms of the Lord on July 26, 2025 in Floresville, Texas at the age of 18. He was born in Puerto Rico to loving parents, Joselyn Colon and Eduardo Santos Davila Jr. on November 14, 2006. Taken from this world far too soon, Edwardo was an absolute joy to his family with a bright soul whose presence lit up every room. His laughter was contagious, his spirit was full of life, and his heart was bigger than most. Whether he was out fishing at sunrise, playing basketball until the sun went down, or simply making his family smile, he lived every moment with passion and heart.
Edwardo was preceded in death by his grandfather, Daniel Velazquez Sr., and his uncle, Jaime Martinez. He is survived by his loving mother, Joselyn Colon, father, Eduardo Santos Davila Jr., and step-father, Juan “JB” Burgos Jr. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Eduardo “Gugu” Santos Colon, J’vian Burgos, Aléf Eduardo Santos Ruiz, and Edwin Joel Lopez Ruiz. Edwardo will be forever remembered by his grandparents, Nancy Encarnacion, Vilma Davila, Eduardo Santos Pacheco, Belkis Velazquez, Carmen Encarnacion, Willie Encarnacion, and Jose Colon, and his great-grandmother, Edna Rosa. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Samaris Velazquez, Danny Velazquez, Guillermo Ayala, Kim Ayala, Miguel Encarnacion, Elbita Encarnacion, Jose J. Burgos, Delia Burgos, Papo Encarnacion, Eduardo Encarnacion, Omar Encarnacion, Carmen “Cuca” Rosa, Api Gonzales, Cana Rosa, Antonio Encarnacion, Vanessa Santos, Jessica Santos, Omar Santos, Brenda Santos, and Wendy Minix. Edwardo will also be forever cherished by his cousins, Dariel Velazquez, Davian Velazquez, Pedro Velazquez, Tashiana Ayala, Jeylin Ayala, Yarieliz Ayala, Isayah Ayala, Luli Camacho, Maelys Encarnacion, Naila Encarnacion, Jetty Rodriguez, Alexandra Font, Alexis Font, Yadiel Trinidad, Adriel Trinidad, Mia Trinidad, Emma Santos, Wyndel Encarnacion, Joviel Burgos, and Jased Burgos. Edwardo truly touched the lives of everyone he knew, especially his girlfriend, Danika Alfaro and numerous friends and family.
A visitation will be held at Franklin Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Monday, August 4, 2025 and a funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will directly follow at Floresville City Cemetery.
