Donald James Jaskinia, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, at the age of 58. He was born in Kenedy, Texas on January 17, 1966 to Louis and Mary (Lyssy) Jaskinia.
Don was raised on a farm as the youngest of 6 children where they worked hard tending to daily chores. A talented two-step dancer, he spent his high school years at the local dance halls. Don graduated from Falls City High School in 1984 where he played football and ran track. After high school, Don began working for ADT Security Systems in San Antonio. He later married Carolyn Hadac and relocated to Shakopee, Minnesota where they started their family. He continued his career with ADT before moving to Johnson Controls, where he worked for 23 years. Since 1996, Don was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church and the Shakopee Knights of Columbus. He loved spending time outdoors, enjoying golfing, hunting, biking, and fishing with friends.
Don was a devoted father to his two children, Ryan and Jenna. He and Ryan cherished their annual deer hunting trips in northern Minnesota, while summers were often spent fishing on Prior Lake with Jenna. Don also took an active role in their sports lives, coaching Ryan in baseball and helping Jenna refine her pitching skills in the backyard. His love of cooking, passed down from his mother, became a tradition shared with his children.
A personable and outgoing man, Don had a gift for making others laugh with a wonderful sense of humor that endeared him to everyone he met. He took great pride in his work and the way he provided for his family, but his deepest passion was being a father.
His favorite place was at his childhood farm and he will be buried near there at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church Cemetery in Cestohowa, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Darlene Daude and sister-in-law, Peggy Jaskinia.
Forever loved, Donald will be missed by his children, Ryan Samuel Jaskinia of Bloomington, MN and Jenna Rose Jaskinia of Dripping Springs, TX, siblings: Jeanette (Melvin) Moczygemba, Ivan Jaskinia, Margie (Russell) Boening, and Louis Jaskinia Jr., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Sam Farias of Casa Amor, for his kindness and care for Don.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 am on November 16, 2024 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church: 300 FM 3191, Falls City, TX 78113. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am and the celebration of the Funeral Mass will immediately follow.
