Obituary

Darryl Royce Brown passed away on December 16, 2025 in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 75. He was born on February 8, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, to loving parents, George and Pauline Brown. Darryl was a proud and lifelong resident of Floresville, a place he truly considered home. In his younger years, he worked as an architectural design drafter and surveyor. As time went on, he found his greatest enjoyment outdoors, spending his days working his land and taking care of the place he built and loved.

Darryl proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a helicopter gunner. His time in the Navy stayed with him throughout his life, and he remained closely connected to the veteran community as a dedicated member of American Legion Post #38. Darryl was a hardworking, independent man who valued service, loyalty, and hard work. He carried his Navy pride with him always and will be remembered for his strength, grit, and love for the life he built. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Darryl is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lieu Brown; his parents, George & Pauline Brown; his son, Steven Brown; his siblings, Carl Brown, Geraldine Ellis, Leland Brown, Allan Brown, and Anthony Brown; and his grandson, Jack-Darryl Brown. He is survived by his son, Tien Brown & Spouse, and his grandchildren, Steven Brown II, Myles Brown (Kimberly), and Ami Brown. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Oliver Brown and Alice Brown, and his brothers, Dana Brown and Vernon Brown.

Private services honoring Darryl’s life and military service will be held at a later date.
