Daniel G. Salas passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026 in his Floresville, Texas home, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 88. He was born on February 20, 1938 in Fairview, Texas to Juan and Ricarda Gonzales Salas.

Daniel was a man who believed in hard work and taking care of those around him. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. Daniel loved to work with his hands and could fix just about anything. He was always willing to lend a hand and help wherever he was needed.

Music was a big part of who he was. Daniel was a talented accordion player who performed on stages across Texas. He enjoyed sharing his music with others, and it brought joy to those who listened. His music remained a source of pride throughout his life.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Ricarda Gonzales Salas; his children, Ismael Daniel Duran, Steven Salas, and Peggy Salas; and his siblings, Steven Salas, Elvira Salas, Marcos Salas, Robert Salas, Alfredo Salas, and Ray Salas.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Armida Nichols Salas. He also leaves behind his children, Julie Ann Salas, Johnny Ray Salas (Lisa Marie), Jeremiah Johnson Salas (Lisa), and Amethystrose Ricarda Salas. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Jaslynn, Paloma, Ismael III, Brandon, Alanna, Selene, Michael, Victoria, Alejandro, Veronica, and Honey as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Moses Salas (Maxine) and Juan Salas (Irene), along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will cherish his memory.

A funeral service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a date to be determined.
