Charlie Esparza

Charlie Esparza, age 75, of Floresville, Texas , passed away on May 27, 2025 in his Floresville home. Charlie was born on February 6, 1950 in Nixon, Texas to Benjamin and Bertha Esparza. He was a beloved spouse, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, and friend.  Whether he was farming his land, coaching his children on dusty little league fields, or helping his community as a maintenance man, Charlie was a man who led by example.  He was also a proud Veteran of the United States Army.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Bertha Esparza. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Elodia T. Ramos, and his beloved children, Teddy Esparza (Rebecca), TJ Esparza, Thomas Esparza (Jessica), and Katie Esparza.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Nick, Jay, Colby, Layla, Benjamin, Isaiah, Matthew, Arian, Kase, and Myles, and 3 great-grandchildren.  Charlie will also be dearly missed by his step-children, Andres, Leonard, and Rick, as well as by his step-grandchildren, Chloe, Vanessa, Gregory, Matthew, Erica, Cassandra, Chaz, Cody, Daniel, Kelsey, Xavier, Alexander, Isaiah, and Michah, along with 8 step-great-grandchildren.  Charlie will be dearly missed by his sister, Frances Moczygemba (Sidney), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm on June 4, 2025 at Franklin Funeral Home and a rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on June 5, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and interment will directly follow at Sutherland Springs Cemetery.  Pallbearers are: Nick Esparza, Stevie Lucio, Mike Moehrig, Donald Scee, Dennis Moczygemba, and Chris Trinidad.  Honorary Pallbearers are: Colby Esparza and Richard Moczygemba.
